Mrs. Susan told the students the story of Camelot School and how it came to be fifty years ago. Before the school was built, the land used to be a magical forest with magical trees. Mrs. Susan also went over daily procedures with the students, such as roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance, and manners in the classroom. The students went around the classroom and gave suggestions for other toys, books, and other materials they might want in the classroom.
Miss Abbie made playdough from scratch with the students. They measured all of the ingredients and mixed it together themselves. They used their touch, sight, and smell senses while making the colorful playdough.
Miss Lauren gave each student a blank puzzle. They wrote their names on one side and drew a picture of something they did this summer on the other side. They practiced motor skills by taking apart their puzzle and putting it back together. Some students chose to keep their puzzles together so they can share the activity with their parents.
